Astria Sunnyside Hospital selected Schedule360® to provide a flexible, web-based nurse scheduling software system to more efficiently manage the employee schedules for all nursing departments.
Employee Self-Service – Schedule Flexibility – Equitable Scheduling:

The Self-Service portion of Schedule360® provides each employee the ability to access their respective schedules online, including through their cell phones. Our employees work schedules that are a combination of “set days” with other days that are self-scheduled. Shifts that are self-scheduled are only those that are true open needs. This transparency for schedule management is a plus for everyone;
The employees have a lower chance of being cancelled and the unit benefits by having open positions filled with qualified staff.
After our employees meet their respective required work targets, they have the ability through Schedule360®, to request extra shifts for overtime or request partial shifts on openings that are not yet filled. Schedule360® manages these requests through Pending status that automatically notifies specific Admin Users through email and text messaging. The Admin Users can then decide to approve or deny the requests, based on what is needed that day for the unit. Whether approved or denied, the system communicates this decision back to the employee. Our employees have expressed satisfaction with the level of schedule flexibility offered by Schedule360®.
Equitable Scheduling – Rotating Release of Shifts:
To better ensure that the same staff do not self-schedule the prime shifts every period, Schedule360® provides a schedule rotation option that staggers the release of shifts each period, on a rotating basis to the groups we have assigned, by unit. This process ensures better equity for obtaining the more desirable openings each period.
Surgical Services – Better Management of On Call Shifts

The Surgical Services Staff all work on a set schedule rotation which includes their respective On Call Shifts. To better improve flexibility for managing the Call shifts, Schedule360® allows the Staff the ability to trade Call shifts between themselves without having to request these changes to management. Management still tracks compliance with Call targets and Staff benefit from the flexibility of scheduling around their personal schedules. It’s definitely been a win-win for both the Staff and the Department.
